Biography
Israeli coloratura soprano Hila Fahima has established herself internationally, receiving praise for her beautiful voice, “incredible ease” and “breathtaking precision” (Das Opernglas).

Highlights of the season 2023-24 include her return to New Israeli Opera for the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor and Gilda in Rigoletto as well as her house debut as Oscar/Un ballo in Maschera at Oper Köln.

Most recently, she gave her house debut at La Scala in Milan as 1st wood sprite/Rusalka and an acclaimed debut in the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor at Aalto Theater Essen. She sang Olympia/Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Dalinda/Ariodante and Morgana/Alcina at New Israeli Opera, gave her house debut at the Bregenzer Festspiele as Gilda and performed Zerbinetta/Ariadne auf Naxos at the Opéra Nationale de Montpellier and at Staatsoper Berlin, where she also appeared as Königin der Nacht/Die Zauberflöte.

At the age of 22 Hila Fahima was invited to join the ensemble of Deutsche Oper Berlin, where she gave role debuts as Königin der Nacht, Nanetta/Falstaff and Najade/Ariadne auf Naxos. She is also a former ensemble member of Wiener Staatsoper, where she has appeared in roles such as Gilda, Zerbinetta, Adina/L´elisir d’amore, Norina/Don Pasquale, Königin der Nacht, Nanetta, Oscar, Princesse Eudoxie/La Juive, Servilia/La Clemenza di Tito and Fiakermilli/Arabella.

Elsewhere, she has performed Blondchen/Die Entführung aus dem Serail at Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse, La Pastourelle/L’Enfant et les Sortilèges for Glyndebourne Festival, Giunia/Lucio Silla at Theater Basel, Königin der Nacht at Oper Graz, the Waldbühne in Berlin and the Aalto Theater Essen, Oscar, Gilda and Sophie/Werther at the New Israeli Opera.

In concert, Hila Fahima has worked with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, NDR Radiophilharmonie, Rotterdam Phiharmonic, Orchestre de Radio France, Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, Les Arts Florissants as well as at the BBC Proms and the Prague Spring Festival. She has had the pleasure to collaborate with renowned conductors such as Donald Runnicles, Zubin Mehta, James Conlon, Adam Fischer, Kazushi Ono, Enrique Mazzola, Ulf Schirmer, Dan Ettinger, Alberto Zedda, Mikko Franck and Marc Minkowski.
